Had my first lesson – it was far harder than I thought it would be, and by the end I was still only allowed halfway up the nursery slope, but it was so much fun. Can’t wait to go again.

Went to the hygienist – no problem, not too bad at all.
Thought that was it for 6 months, but no, couple of days later, got tooth ache.
Got emergency appointment with a locum dentist – horrible woman.
She said I need a root canal, in the filling done 2 weeks earlier. She said she’s do temporary treatment, then make an appointment for the proper filling with my (nice) dentist.
The practice manager said no, the locum must do the full treatment. The locum actually started sulking like a child. The practice manager told her off, in front of me.
She made my mouth bleed with the injection during her hissy fit, then stabbed my lip with a scraper to check if the injection had worked (it hadn’t!!).
In the end, I refused to let her treat me.
I have loads of similar stories form the past, which is why I’m scared of the dentist in the first place.
Usually, I would have walked out and never gone back, leaving me back with bad tooth and no dentist.
But this itme I was a good girl – I complained and made another appointment with my own dentist. I do have to wait 5 weeks, though.
I’m proud of myself for dealing with it properly, and sticking with it :-)
