I got a fleur-de-lis tattoo on the outside of my wrist years ago, in memory of a friend who passed away. I haven’t regretted it for a second! I was (at one point) slightly worried that a very visible tattoo, like mine, would hender my career, but I managed to get a job at a bank, of all places, even with the tattoo. Mind you, I live in Seattle, where tattoos are practically mandatory. Just be sure to get a tattoo you’re in love with, as you’ll be seeing it all the time (as will everyone else).

My buddy Todd and I were in Montréal from Seattle for a long weekend, and he graciously organized this event.
The attendees were all pretty interesting, intelligent, and fun to talk to. Not only did I enjoy cool conversation with new people, but I also realised how little I honestly knew about Canada, in general, and Montréal specifically.. Oh yeah, and we got some tips on local watering holes…a definite plus! I’m so glad we had a decent turnout (if only for the sake of Todd’s ego)!
I think this is an excellent way to meet locals when visiting a new town (or moving to a new one, I guess). And, like on “Fat Albert,” if you’re not careful, you just might learn something.
I drink more than the recommended 8 glasses of agua a day, and I really think that’s the reason why my skin lacks the lines a woman of my (ahem) age would normally have (especially given the fact that I drink & smoke). Yes, drinking more water means one has to pee more often, but that means one is flushing stuff (like toxins) out of the ol’ system. Water is a wonderful, wondeful thing!
