shop at the Farmer's Market
Trying to Start

I’ve recently become concerned with my “carbon footprint” and all those other trendy but responsible phrases. It is pretty absurd that I am not shopping at a Farmer’s market since I a) can walk to one from my apartment and b) try to eat high quality and organic food.

For a long time my boyfriend was upset about how food at the Farmer’s Market seems to be more expensive, but it semes like this money is going to local farmers rather than AgriBusiness… any thoughts?

We’re going to try out our first week of Farmers Market food next week, we missed the Sunday market.

find a pen pal
Strange Places

I’ve been really interested in Mail Art for a while, and send lots of letters. But I found a real pen pal (who writes more than a few times before getting bored) in the strangest of places—we met briefly, for about 26 hours two years ago! Now we’re great pen pals, his letters nearly make me cry, they are really beautiful. Sometimes, I worry that I’ve fallen in love with him, but I know that is only because he isn’t real, just the 17 letters we’ve exchanged in the past two years.

Still, something about letters seems so much more intimate than e-mail or txt messages. Very strange. Sometimes too, I wonder if all letters are love letters. Now that we have these other, more efficeint means of communication, letters seem to take on added weight.

Anyway, get a pen pal, they’re wonderful.

walk 10,000 steps a day (read all 4 entries…)
20 Lbs Are Gone!

It is official, I’ve lost 20 lbs on this 10,000 Steps A Day thing! Isn’t that amazing?

I can’t believe that it just took walking for an hour a day and modest changes in my diet to achieve this! I am thrilled, beyond thrilled, and I think that I’ll keep this up, since it is more of a lifestyle than anything.
