I have been very fortunate and was left some money by my gorgeous grandma who sadly passed away in November. The cheque arrived last week and I am putting it to good use by clearing as much of my debt as is possible. Amazingly I could be entirely debt free by the end of the year. This is such a long way to have travelled since 12 months ago when I was staring bankcruptcy and homelessness in the face. But I am proud to say that I stuck it out and worked hard to turn it around and things have worked out. I am now living in a gorgeous home with a very considerate landlady close to the seaside right where I have always wanted to be. Life doesn’t get much better than that!

How I did it: I got my place back in 2006 and it took me 2.5 years to reach a point where I could take advantage of it.I found an achievable training plan online, searching until I found one that fitted in with my lifestyle. Although I chose one with only 3 runs a week I still didn't make all those runs but I didn't give myself a hard time I simply moved my thinking on to the next one.I trained by myself, ran without a walkman or music. ... on January 15th. I am now officially a free woman! Just a bit of pension paperwork to sort out between us and the lawyer to finish paying and then it is all behind us. Feels right.
I read the books a few years ago and last year my daughter and I went to see a production of the trilogy at the National Theatre in London and it was the most spell binding piece I think I’ve ever seen. Part of me really doesn’t want to see the film in case I’m horribly disappointed.
Thanks for the link – we really enjoyed it!
