I’ve tried doing this before but I just got bored with some of the Old Testament Books. I’ve read all of the New Testament. Hopefully this time I’ll have more patience with the Old Testament.

I’m fluent in both English and Tagalog. Since I live in Southern California, it would be useful to learn Spanish. I’ve taken Spanish in high school and college but since I don’t use it on an everyday basis I’ve forgotten most of what I’ve learned. So my goal is to learn to read, write, and speak Spanish.
I went to my orthopedist yesterday about my knee. Turns out I have a possible torn meniscus from the last full marathon I raced. Since that takes a really long time to heal I can’t run for a while. I guess this goal will have to wait until 2010. Booh :(

I plan on saving money by saving 10% or more of every paycheck. So far it’s been working. However, most of the money I’ve saved I used for traveling. So for 2009 I’ve decided to have two different savings accounts- one savings account for my “rainy days” and one for “fun funds- for traveling and other fun activities”.
I’ve only beaten my dad once in chess. I don’t count it because he let me beat him. I’m working on my game so that I can hopefully win him one of these days.
I really like playing chess but I’m not good at it. I would play chess online but I would only win probably 3 out of 10 games. I’d like to learn how to be a better player so that I can beat my dad at chess when I play him.
Steps I’ve taken to achieve this goal:
Play at least one game a day
Read materials on chess
I try not to get dismayed when I lose a game
I try to review/analyze the games I lose and win
Steps I’ve taken to achieve this goal:
I’ve started a prayer journal since last week and have been keeping it constantly.
I try to spend time in prayer whenever I can.
I need to attend church- I will do this starting this Saturday 1/3/09.
Books I’ve read since July 2008:
July- “Tuesdays with Morrie”, “You Suck”, “Killer Knots”, “Middlesex”. (I read a lot of books for this month to make up for the missed months for 2008)
August- “Daughter of Fortune”
September- “Watchmen”
October- “Tipping Point”
November- “The Last Lecture”
December- “Eat, Pray, Love”
