Dear 43 Things Users,

10 years after introducing 43 Things to the world, we have decided we have met our last goal: completing the incredible experience that has been 43 Things. Please join us in giving one last cheer to all the folks who have shared their goals with the world, as well as all the people who have worked at The Robot Co-op to build this incredible website. We won a Webby Award, published a book, and brought happiness to a lot of people.

Starting today, 43 Things users can export their goals and entries from the site. Starting August 15, we will make the site “read only”. 43 Things users will still be able to view the site and export their content, but we won’t be taking any new content from users. We hope to leave the site up for folks to see and download their content until the end of the year. Ending on New Year’s Eve takes us full circle.

It has been a long ride (one of our original goals was to "build a company that lasts at least 2 years” - we beat that one!) While we wish the site could live on, it has suffered from a number of challenges - changes in how people use the site, the advertising industry, and how search engines view the site. We wish the outcome was different – but we’ve always been realistic about when our goals are met and when they aren't.

As of today, you will be able to download your goals and entries. See more about that on the FAQ page. Thanks for 10 great years of goal-setting and achieving.

music – both my sons are singing all the time and know the lyrics – so cool

our mission trip to see the california missions – to understand how messed up the past was and how it is still happening all over the world – sad – us humans haven’t learned at all.

shit on

I am grateful for being pretty much disrespected in one of the worst ways possible – this has propelled me to act on other items in my life in a more positive way.

I am grateful for the free meditation series that I’m doing now. I am glad it is there when I want and need it.

I am grateful for the bird poop that landed on me at the end of the day – it has served as a solid way to show me that the universe is behind me in my new mindset and my future.

I am grateful for two wonderful children who are on board with me and understand me and are supportive of me and my actions this evening.

I am grateful for the future and all that is holds.

Infinite Love and Gratitude! I am now.

He is at the point now where he says

“I have to go poop” So this means he is stopping dropping and popping. Hooray! Now he just needs to tell his care provider and then we’ll be business.

for sure the first quarter of this year I have done this

and I am looking for new work so this is a bonus. If I am to find a new job I’ll be able to leave knowing I had focused on the tasks at hand and leave with great notes.

So for the update:

Status excel sheet (the big thorn in my side) and prepare for the need to maybe having to do it again in March/April. JUST FINISHED THE SECOND ONE! ! HOORAY.
Office Manual (add to it even if it isn’t my project)
Help the students raise $20K for their matching fundraising grant. (Oh I hope we reach that level!) We raised 30K so yes, we got teh 20K matching grant so we made almost $50K.
Develop the retreat in April for the new board. JUST FINISHED THIS TONIGHT.
Keep a new system for student notes.
Finish writing my advising book and have it ready to show off in July
oh and all the rest of the stuff I can’t remember right this second….

The revised list:
  • Status excel sheet: The one I’ll need to do for June – hopefully the last one because the new system will be up and running by SEPT.
  • Keep a new system for student notes: need to draft up the templates.
  • Finish writing my advising book and have it ready to show off in July – not going to get this done for the workshop but I can at least have a discussion about it with colleagues and get people lined up to help with editing and such.
  • oh and all the rest of the stuff I can’t remember right this second….

I am going to now have a hiking blueprint.
A grocery store/recipe blueprint.

Thanks universe for having a corner to turn. I know that my journey is going to have many more corners to turn. That is a good thing – keeps it exciting.
