revamp my wardrobe
the 'toss first' idea... 4 years ago

I love to get rid of stuff – clothes included. I would get rid of 70% of what’s in my closet if I could, and then rebuild my wardrobe with fewer things that I actually like. But who has the money to do things that quickly, right? I mean, unless you’re on ‘What Not To Wear’... Anyway, I have done this much so far:

-made a list of things I think I need to make a decent wardrobe
-worn what I have and found ways of making it look good (i.e. with a new accessory)
-worn what I have and found that certain things fit better/look better on me now
-tossed a lot, but want to toss more!
-realized that if it ain’t comfortable, it ain’t getting worn!
-taken clothes to Goodwill (thrift store)
-taken back ‘sexy’ boots in favour of warm/comfy boots suited for a long, Canadian winter
-bought a new winter bomber jacket with a big hood
-bought a new, modern, black leather ‘everyday’ purse
-gone back blonde, because my natural colour doesn’t make me happy

I plan to do one more ‘big’ toss-out and then toss things gradually, as I can afford to replace them. Has anyone sold clothes? I was thinking of selling on Ebay but I don’t think I would make enough money to justify the effort.

I almost don’t even know what I like anymore, or am afraid to buy things in case they BECOME the next thing I regret buying. :)

write songs again
'again' 4 years ago

One word differentiates this forum from the ‘write songs’ one, and that word is: ‘again’, meaning we’ve all written songs but for some reason or another can’t or don’t anymore. I totally fall into this category.

I have barely finished a song since 2003, when I released my first album. Before that I was hardly prolific. I haven’t been prolific since I was much younger and much less hard on myself.

I didn’t join this thread looking for answers or advice…although I would definitely appreciate anything kind that anyone has to say. I joined in order to be accountable. I want to achieve my ‘43 things’. So dammit, I’m going to report on my progress and hopefully someone out there will want to do the same, with me. We can cheer each other on. Sound good? :D

Weigh 120 pounds again
So close and yet so far 4 years ago

123-ish today. Sometimes up to 128. It’s only a few pounds but it makes the difference between being comfy in my jeans and not being comfy in my jeans. Can you relate?
