I love to get rid of stuff – clothes included. I would get rid of 70% of what’s in my closet if I could, and then rebuild my wardrobe with fewer things that I actually like. But who has the money to do things that quickly, right? I mean, unless you’re on ‘What Not To Wear’... Anyway, I have done this much so far:
-made a list of things I think I need to make a decent wardrobe
-worn what I have and found ways of making it look good (i.e. with a new accessory)
-worn what I have and found that certain things fit better/look better on me now
-tossed a lot, but want to toss more!
-realized that if it ain’t comfortable, it ain’t getting worn!
-taken clothes to Goodwill (thrift store)
-taken back ‘sexy’ boots in favour of warm/comfy boots suited for a long, Canadian winter
-bought a new winter bomber jacket with a big hood
-bought a new, modern, black leather ‘everyday’ purse
-gone back blonde, because my natural colour doesn’t make me happy
I plan to do one more ‘big’ toss-out and then toss things gradually, as I can afford to replace them. Has anyone sold clothes? I was thinking of selling on Ebay but I don’t think I would make enough money to justify the effort.
I almost don’t even know what I like anymore, or am afraid to buy things in case they BECOME the next thing I regret buying. :)
