I found a store here in town that sells beads and jewelry supplies. I’ve made necklaces and earrings before and it’s way cheaper than buying them. I just make simple things, but I think simple pieces are often the most versatile and easy to wear. I think I’ll try my hand at making a few things for the ladies at Ava’s daycare. I definitely didn’t go all-out on their Christmas gifts.

How I did it: I try to demystify things. I can't help it. But there are so many amazing things to take in and understand, I know I will never understand everything that I find amazing and/or confounding. And, regardless of what some people seem to think, understanding something on an intellectual level doesn't make that thing any less wonderful. Photosynthesis, for example, is amazing and wonderful whether you understand it or n… Read how I did it…
How I did it: It took a very bad experience to make me question my belief system. After my best efforts to remain faithful failed, I was forced to conclude that my belief system was built on a grand foundation of loosely bound myths that were widely perpetuated to keep the powerful in power. After drawing this conclusion, I was open to see all of the good people in the world who are good just to be...good. I was genuinely inspired by … Read how I did it…
How I did it: I learned who I can depend on and who I can't. As a bonus, I became a better judge of character. Good friends and a loving partner are the luxuries that make life wonderful, and if you have friends and a lover, you're incredibly fortunate. But in the final analysis, you can really only depend on yourself. So the challenge is to become someone that you can depend upon. Read how I did it…

I’d like to listen to my iPod through my car speakers on road trips, etc. For $15 I can make this goal a reality. Might take care of it this very weekend. Then will have guaranteed tunes for the trip home next week.
$9,150 later…we have a new roof. That unbelievable price is not because we live in a big house, either. We live in an old house (built in 1920) and it has never had a new roof in all those years. It had 4 layers of shingles that had to be stripped off and new plywood had to be put down b/c they didn’t use that way back when the house was built. So…now we’re back to being pretty poor again.
But when we have money again (Oh wait, didn’t we just have a child 4 months ago…we’re never going to have money again. Who am I kidding?)here are the next things to purchase:
Blinds for this house (we have no blinds on the lower level AND we live on a corner lot, so god and anybody walking by can look right in and see us on display)
A desktop computer (tired of using this little netbook for word processing)
A flat screen tv (how antiquated are we?)
