I have been in the DEP program since the end of July. I went to college for a semester but was unable to pay for the second semester. So I “put college on hold” thinking if I worked for a year and saved every penny, I’d be able to go. I had scholarships and financial aid after all. Five months of working 2 jobs I hated was enough. Not to mention one of those jobs went out of business. Even with the bad job market I was able to find another job. I started thinking to myself how I am I going to pay for school at this rate? And now I have a student loan to pay for too….
One of my friends was getting ready to leave for the Marines, which got me thinking. Now I’ll be able to pay for school, plus many other benefits.
I have 5 weeks left till I go to Chicago. I couldn’t be more excited or nervous.

How I did it: The Saturday after Christmas '08 was my first trip to NYC. I caught the Jersey Transit with 2 friends and met up with a 3rd. We saw nearly everything between Penn Station and Central Park. I can't wait to go again and go to the Metro of Art Read how I did it…
I decided 3 years ago….my senior year of high school, that my ultimate goal in life would be to have of a piece of my artwork hang in a gallery. I’d like to set a higher goal and harder challenge. I want to have my artwork displayed in a well known gallery or museum.
One of my many AP classes in high school was AP Studio Art….sounds crazy right? Advanced Placement Studio Art? Yes I did score high enough to apply for college credit and did receive it.
