We finally got a new tv. It’s not what I had in mind but it is very nice. At 46” it sure is different from the old 25” screen that died. I am glad to cross this off my list!

When I discovered how many unusual apples were available on the internet, I started thinking about having an apple tasting party. I was thinking of something well planned, with unusual apples and quite a few people. In my mind it had become so elaborate that I kept putting it aside for “when I had more time.”
Today we were sitting around talking with a few friends and one person asked what the difference was between the different apples that she saw in the store. So we started to discuss the commonly available ones and their characteristics. Suddenly I remembered that we happened to have an unusually nice selection of varieties in the fridge. So out came the apples and we had an impromtu apple tasting. We didn’t make notes or follow rules but we had a lot of fun and the friend with the question found out how different apples could be and which ones she liked the best. I was surprised at how much we all learned about the characteristics of some of the apples that are commonly available in our area.
We STILL don’t have a new TV. I had an old TV that I sometimes used when I was working upstairs. Someone insisted on bringing that downstairs. So with that hooked up the urgency was gone and people kept changing their minds about what we should get. Every time I thought we had a concensus I did the research and found a suitable model but was never able to push the project to completion before the next wave of objections.
If you want something done quickly never consult a committee.
