It might be easier to fall in love if I actually met any men. Seriously, I spend the majority of my day at work, where there are maybe 3 single, straight guys in my age range, none of whom I am interested in, and none of whom are interested in me. I hang out with my friends, most of whom are women, and we never really go anywhere. Even the things I do that are new and interesting tend to attract women and not men. The class I am taking has 15 women and one man in it.

So I think maybe the goal shouldn’t be to fall in love, the goal should be to find a way to put myself in places where falling in love is a possibility.

The good people at Northwestern are now sitting on a large stack of papers from me.
UIC is next, then DePaul. Evidently UIC has a REALLY good writing program. I’m such a snob I never really looked into it.

I have been training for the Breast Cancer 3-Day, so I have been going on 3 hour walks at least once a week. I have used sun screen everytime and how wacky is this? I don’t have a sunburn! Amazing!

I have been kicking around an idea for quite a while, but it hasn’t really gone anywhere. Then, this past week, something happened at work that inspired one of those “what if” moments, and the entire plot of a novel sort of appeared in my head along with several characters.

I wrote an outline this weekend, and started working on character sheets for the main characters.

I’m really geeked, because this seems like a solid idea.

After 3 months of slowly gaining back 10 pounds from the 29 I had lost, I have started going down again. 2.6 pounds this week! YEA! Of course, I am training for the 3-Day Breast Cancer walk this fall, and I am walking 20+ miles a week. Maybe that has something to do with it.

I love teaching, but I am the worst teacher as far as getting papers returned. Perhaps I should just give it up for this year and try to start over in the fall?

I give away big bags of clothing every Spring and every Fall. It is so much easier to figure out what you own and what you need when you aren’t buried in stuff you never wear. I load up all of my clothing and take it to The Brown Elephant down the street from me, so I know the clothes are doing someone some good.

I know I don’t want to take a class at IO, because I have heard such horrible things about the way it is run. I am thinking Second City, or something at Annoyance Theater…..

I am going to be gone for much of the summer, so this is a goal that really needs to wait for fall, but I would like to make a decision soon.

I was planning to go to England this summer, but I am going to be at Amherst studying, so my trip is going to have to wait.

Well, I need 25 pages of writing for my DePaul application, and I have 14 done. I am going to use my concert diaries from WXRT, because they are fun and interesting, and I think show what I can do on a deadline. I am thinking about turning in an academic paper for the other 11 pages, but I am not sure which one I want to use.
