have more confidence in myself
Untitled

I can do this! I am worth something!

be more outgoing
Untitled

I’ve reached my limit and am sick of being a pushover. I’m finally standing up for myself. I think hanging around with Americans for a month has helped!

see a show in the West End
Finally seen Wicked

I went to see Wicked at the Apollo Victoria in London’s West End while down there to get a Russian work visa on 4th August 2011.

see wicked
Wicked!

I went to see this at the Apollo Victoria in London’s West End while down there to get a Russian work visa on 4th August 2011.

find a job
Teaching in Quebec!

I’ve now started my new job (as of 2/9/2009) as an English language assistant in an adult education centre in Amqui, Quebec! Go me!

Go to the top of the Empire State Building.
Night is the best time to go....

Went up to the top on 24/08/08 at about 11pm and the view was spectacular. Night is definitely the best time to go, when the whole of New York is lit up. Magic.

see a show on Broadway
The Lion King!

Brilliant show! Great! Amazing! Broadway’s got a great atmosphere and I even got a ride back from the hotel on a rickshaw!

see The Lion King stageshow
Been waiting ten years for this!

I’ve wanted to see this show ever since it started in the West End, but never got around to going down to London to see it. I saw it on Broadway on 23/08/08 and thought it was fabulous! Even better than expected, I was lost for words. A beautiful, emotional piece of theatre that everyone should see. Brilliant!

go to New York
Wow, it's big....

First impression of New York – it’s big! First stepped out of the subway and looked up at the buildings around me and nearly fell over backwards. It’s noisy, it’s busy, but I loved it! I can’t wait to go back there again! I’m not busy next summer….

move to Canada
Living in Quebec!

I now live in Quebec!!!! Only been here a day, but loving it so far. Looking good for my future plans to stay here…

be able to recite Hamlet in Klingon
Pointless...

Been thinking about this and it’s a bit pointless really. When is it ever going to be of any practical use? I have better things to use my memory for! I have little enough of it as it is…

stop hating myself
Been beating myself up for too long.....

This is pointless. I’ve been beating myself up for too many years about things I can’t change. I’ve just graduated and I have a new life in Canada lined up, so I’m making a fresh start and accepting the things I don’t like about myself. I’m me, and that’s never going to change. I just have to get on with life. Life’s what you make it and if I sit around moping I’ll just be wasting it. I’m not prepared to do that.

Graduate
Finally finished!!!!

I’ve finally graduated! Completed on 27th June 2008, I now have an M.A.(Hons) French & German (with Integrated Year Abroad) from the University of St Andrews! Go me! Time to get on with the rest of my life.

put a message in a bottle and leave it in a public toilet
Can't be bothered...

Lost interest in doing this, it’s a bit pointless really.

visit the Scottish Deer Centre
Live too far away....

Now that I’ve left uni, I live far too far away to bother going, so I’m giving up.

take part in a student protest
We Want Lower Rent!!!

Went to a protest today for affordable accommodation in St Andrews. The university want to cut the number of cheap beds in half and build posh accommodation that only rich students can afford. They’re trying to exclude poorer students by making it impossible to live here. My first protest, but it was a huge amount of fun!

see Mamma Mia!
Absolutely brilliant!!!!

This show was amazing. I’ve been meaning to go and see it for ages, but couldn’t bring myself to go all the way down to London. Missed it in Edinburgh when it was here a few years ago, and couldn’t get tickets for it when I was in Vienna. Finally went to see it at the weekend at the SECC in Glasgow. It was well worth the trip over there, and well worth the wait. One of those shows that I wanted to see again pretty much as soon as it’d finished!

see the Falkirk wheel
Slight detour....

Well, I was driving from Glasgow to St Andrews via the Kincardine Bridge, and saw the brown sign for it. My satnav wasn’t happy, but I came off the motorway and went to see it. I’ve been meaning to go for ages, and seeing as I was going past it anyway, it made sense to drop by. Got as far as the car park, took a few pictures, and left again. Only a 10 minute detour.

get a job
Not started it yet....

Hope it’s a good job – teaching English in Quebec! Not starting until September, but really looking forward to it!!!

go skinny dipping
Untitled

Years ago when I was a little kid, my parents stole my swimming costume while we were swimming in the sea off the coast of Greece on holiday. It was really embarrassing, especially for the man who was snorkeling nearby!
