The fact is that achieving bodhi, one kills all earthly desires. Basically, it’s the antithesis to the “to live instead of exist” goal which everyone seems to be so fond of. Imagine a world with no lust or passion. Imagine a world of harmonious love. Where’s the excitement? Where are the moral dillemas?
This goal is achievable to an extent. Most intelligent people tend to strive toward something like it during their search for themselves, however, a dedication to (as compared to an affair with) it is a life forfeited.
