I’ve smoked for four years, was on around 25-30 a day, and have had around three failed quit attempts. I decided yesterday to give up smoking, and I feel that I have gained a little wisdom since the last quite attempt. I have been reading about the psychology of it, and now appreciate the fact that an occasional cigarette is not an option. I’m actually excited about it, and am looking forward to discovering more and more benefits. I have been working on banishing thoughts that I’m “giving up” something I “enjoy”, because I know that all of this is deluded. I am, however going through the nicotine withdrawal process, and have had headaches, insomnia and cravings. I’ve decided to write here at good old 43things.com (which I haven’t done regularly for ages) any time I am find it tough.

Getting there...

I’ve been pretty much able to keep my house for just over 5 years now, and despite recent global recession, ridiculously high cost of living and working for less than minimum wage, I’m still managing to meet all my payments. I also have only £350 of my overdraft left to pay!
