Now I can really report on my tongue piercing. I love it! it is really cute, and has healed so nicely. I was only in pain for about 4 days, and when it hurt, it was easily countered by tylenol. So yay for being a badass.
And now I am totally piercing addicted. Next I am thinking daith, tragus, definitely more lobe piercings, and mayyyybeeee a nipple (maybe maybe maybe).

Now that school has actually begun, my homework and readings should be completed in a timely manner. My classes end at 12:30 today so there is no excuse!

My RA is a piercing enthusiast and she took me to her favorite place to get it done! I love it, and although it is really tender right now, it is in no way as painful as I thought it would be. Which is good!

This, like so many of my other goals, just has to do with being mindful! less carbs, more actualy fruits and vegetables.

This just takes a little time and effort. I am not used to calling people, but now that a sincere effort has been made to, it feels alot easier. Making plans is real nice.

I’m just too lazy right now!

I have been avoiding carbs like the plague. Or at least white food carbs. Also, I’ve started eating eggs every morning, which is a protein source. Nice. And I didn’t think I liked eggs, but they’re alright. Especially fried. Alot of corn and tomatoa nd mozzarella salad, mmm. And some grilled cheese. yesterday I had evggie tempura, which was fucking delicious. And pizza with green pepper and onion. I would rather have more fruit in my diet, but there isn’t any great fruit here right now…for some reason all the berries look a little sinister.
But I do have a mango that will be gobbled down later.

After procrastinating a bit, I went out and bought them. Maybe if my doctor send a referral in time, I can go seea nutritionist before school, just to see how I should be eating, and which vitamins to take to really help me. I am taking a women’s once daily, which should be fine. But I just like to know for sure.

And since I am back, the library visit today will hopefully end in me taking out White Teeth, by Zadie Smith. I will only take out two books at a time. The other would be the Thoreau book!

Thanks to routine and great products, this is enjoyable to fulfill! And it feels good to take care of yourself. We all deserve the best care we can give.

My mom swears I am “addicted to carbs”. She is an ex-Atkins dieter…so that’s that. But I do agree partially, everything I eat is carbs. pasta, potatoes, bread. So for the grocery list I asked for all things that are actually fruit or vegetables EXCEPT my one wonderful carb, rice. Basmati rice, mm-mmm.

My dairy intake has been limited by the number of lactase pills I carry around. If I only have 1 pill, then only one food with dairy. I am normally carrying around 2, because sometimes I am out of the house for quite a while. This budgeting has really been the key to less dairy. Also, I have stayed away fromt hings like ice cream, and eaten sweet fruit instead! Yum!

This was a triumph for me, because I am usually too lazy to pay attention to little things like this. But I realized it was time to face the facts. Without good oral hygiene, your mouth will rot. And that just isn’t good!
(Also, I want a clean miuth for my tongue piercing in September!)

The verdict is in…
And yes, the third brush is needed! I have brushed my teeth three times per day, and flossed once each day for a whole week, and it has really been quite something. The overall appearance of my teeth has improved! They are much whiter, and my breath feels much fresher more often.
Yay for finally catching on! Really, after turning 18 I started feeling like I had to care for myself more. And gingivitis and other nasty mouth diseases are facts of life if oral hygiene isn’t constant. I do not want that!

After researching further, I am not sure if eating more raw food is good at all. Our bodies have evolved past not being able to break down cooked things. The more important thing is to eat a healthy, well balanced diet. This definitely includes the ratio of raw to cooked food. However, fruits and vegetables that are raw are a real part of my diet, so I think that the amount of raw food I intake is atually a healthy amount.
So not really giving up, just…changing my mind.
