It became the most procastinated task of my life once I filed the extension in April, but I finally dropped off my tax info with the accountant this morning. The sad thing about it is that I had built up the task so much in my head I thought it would take hours to gather together the final information. Instead I finished it in about one hour while watching the Inferno II on MTV. Live and Learn.

I spent this last weekend in a Des Moines hotel for my wife’s family reunion. We have a 3-year-old girl and a 21-month-old boy who, needless to say, had their sleep routines disrupted by our trip away from home. They both needed us to lay down with them at nap time and bedtime before they could fall asleep.
As I lay on the bed in the quiet darkness waiting for my daughter to fall asleep, I found my breathing deepening and, instead of staring at the ceiling before I could go visit with the adults, I tried to quiet my mind for at least a couple of minutes. Unfortunately, I haven’t kept up the routine since returning home, but I plan to take a new stab at it this weekend.
I have begun increasing my water consumption throughout the day at work. I do feel like I have more energy and am less stressed. My caffeine consumption hasn’t yet decreased at the same rate, but I’m working on it, too.
