I’ve been taking more pictures certainly, but keep forgetting to upload them. Oops. Still, I’m not sure if I’ve got the eye yet.
OK, so my current job finishes tomorrow so I’ve got to prepare for the next one. No idea what I’ll be doing, but I got the impression that was part of the appeal. Lots of short-term contract work so working with lots of different companies and lots of different technologies. Should be a good challenge. Looking forward to it.
THere’s been a bit of a facebook summer happening, with everyone signing up for an account, which means I’ve ended up getting in touch with a few people I haven’t spoken to in a while. It feels a bit tangental to this goal, it’s more a gentle brush than being in touch, but it has helped keep this goal in mind. And it means it’s easier to arrange a proper catch up session.
I’ve decided I should follow up this goal, although it’s not the most cheered, as it’s something I need to fit in around whatever else I do. My method is simple: each day I will call, e-mail, text or IM someone I haven’t spoken to in a while to find out how they are doing, and that person can’t be someone I see regularly (so people on my pub quiz team, work mates, and others don’t count). Blog posts don’t count :-)
I didn’t quite stick to this one for last month, but I feel I have made progress, and I’m certainly eating less chocolate. I have read somewhere though that it takes 100 days to make or break a habit, so I’ve decided to keep at this goal for another 2 months before I declare it complete.
Feeling bad today. Feeling weak. Been binging on a few chocolates sicne Valentine’s Day. But I’m not going to throw in the towel. Start again. From today. But I think I might need to set my target again when the timer runs out.
A sneaky chocolate is the one I forget about. On the train, or one I get when I go to the shops for a paper. Just because it’s quick, doesn’t mean it has any less calories. I figure if I can not buy a sneaky chocolate for a month, I’ll be doing very well.
I’ve seen the TV spots about learning Gaelic, so I thought I should check out the BBC website at http://www.bbc.co.uk/colinandcumberland/ which uses the same cartoon to teach Welsh, Irish and Gaelic. It might be a cartoon, but I figure it’s a gentle start :-)

I’ve added something similar to a few different sites. It’s been a while since I went to the gym, but I know I enjoy swimming, I just don’t do enough of it. My exercise for today though is a bit of tidying. 3 rooms and a month’s worth of pine needles. That’s got to sort out my 30 minutes of vigorous exercise for today, don’t you think?
