I’m done! I finished my taxes with about an hour spare to mail them in.
I should get a nice refund from the government since I overpaid this year.
And I owed the state $5.00. That’s one check I was happy to write.

How I did it: I planned to go in fall of 2006 but things didn't work out that way. I was flexible, saved money, and spent time learning the language. I finally traveled to Brazil in September & October of 2008. It was totally worth it because my mom and aunt were able to come down and spend a week with me during my trip. Brazil is a huge, beautiful country and I am planning to go back! Read how I did it…
How I did it: The recipe is below. You can put in white or wheat flour, or a mixture. It's pretty easy to mix in cheese or herbs too. I don't have a mixer so I do it all by hand. The whole mixing part takes about 20 minutes. It's totally worth doubling the recipe to make extra loaves. 1) Mix 1 tsp sugar with 3/4 c boiling water and 3/4 c room temp water in a medium bowl. 2) Stir until sugar is dissolved. 3) Add but do not stir yeast (one packet's… Read how I did it…
From the seedlings I started about 5 weeks ago, almost all of them sprouted.
I have way more than I can actually grow:
7 tomato plants
10 spinach plants
5 basil plants
and I have a bunch of herbs and flowers I want to start indoors now that the days are longer.
It’ll be a while until I can start planting in the ground (probably another 6 weeks..boo) but it’s so nice to have things growing inside.
And I’ve finally learned how much to water the plants. It was definitely a trial and error process.
I have done my taxes myself for years… probably a decade.
It’s not hard, I just have to have patience and figure it out.
Every year I wait until the very last minute to do them and I always stress out unnecessarily.
Well, this year is no different…
... now I’m just procrastinating.
