Now I've had another baby... 18 months ago

...almost 8 weeks ago. I was 165 when I got pregnant, and I’m 185 now, so I would really like to get down into the 140’s. I’m sorting out the exercise thing but I’m not ready to die-t yet.

Is it possible?? 3 years ago

I’m not looking to get skinny or anything like that; just lose a size and weigh what I did before I had my last two kids. I’m 5’9” and 160 lbs, I would like to get back down to 140. I also really need to build some muscle mass.

It’s just that I’m still bfeeding so dieting is pretty much out (blood sugar is too easily messed with) so I have to rely on exercise alone to do it. The good part is that I have an elliptical trainer and weights. The bad part is that I HATE to exercise… I loved Jazzercise but our town lost our instructor a year ago, so it’s up to me to get a move on.

re-design my website (read all 2 entries…)
Moving along! 3 years ago

I’ve made some progress toward the redesign of my website, http://www.megjackson.com. I got rid of the old site that I had designed as part of a class project from last year; it was in tables and did not reflect my new love of pure CSS standards-based layouts. I just replaced it all with a single page with my contact info as I’m still thinking of how the site is going to function overall and I’m not ready to get down to the nuts and bolts of putting it together.

I’m very proud of this page, however. It’s completely standards-compliant and accessible, and the code is lean and beautiful, completely handled with css. It took a bit of trial and error to get the “info” div to sit where it does, but it was helped by the fact that I had to use a fixed width layout because of the design. The text is not scalable, but it was the only way I could get it to look the same in firefox and ie (damn ie!) with so little space to work with.

Also, I found a good template for my techie blog http://www.pixelsurfers.net, that will be rather easy to modify when I get around to it. It’s very well designed, and I would recommend WordPress templates of any kind from the folks that created it, referenced at the bottom of the page. And last but not least, I dumped the old table-based single page site I maintain for the local LLLI group and coded up a simple, all-css replacement. You can see it at http://www.megjackson.com/ridgecrestlalecheleague. So, on to the next few projects I need to get out of the way until I can get started full throttle on my whole site redesign.
