Just before xmas i contacted the local spinners guild and they put me in contact with Mary who teaches spinning!
She does a course of 6 lessons which only cost £30 for the whole course each lesson lasting 2 hours. 12 hours and i should be on my own yeah right!!!
Well thats what i thought! It’s my last lesson this week and I am already producing real knittable wool.
My lovely hubby bought me a brand new wheel for xmas! An ashford traveller like I had been learning on.
I went to a guild meeting last Saturday and was really surprised by how many people were there men and women of all ages wheels of all sorts shapes and sizes and everyone is so helpful.
Yeah maybe, but my partner and myself have the will and the know how so maybe one day. We live in the countryside (tied cottage) already but finding some land to rent or buy at a reasonable price is hard. So many ‘city folk’ are buying second homes etc that the prices are sky high and us locals are unable to afford to buy houses or land.
Well I have got 12 chickens so thats a start!
