Dear 43 Things Users,

10 years after introducing 43 Things to the world, we have decided we have met our last goal: completing the incredible experience that has been 43 Things. Please join us in giving one last cheer to all the folks who have shared their goals with the world, as well as all the people who have worked at The Robot Co-op to build this incredible website. We won a Webby Award, published a book, and brought happiness to a lot of people.

Starting today, 43 Things users can export their goals and entries from the site. Starting August 15, we will make the site “read only”. 43 Things users will still be able to view the site and export their content, but we won’t be taking any new content from users. We hope to leave the site up for folks to see and download their content until the end of the year. Ending on New Year’s Eve takes us full circle.

It has been a long ride (one of our original goals was to "build a company that lasts at least 2 years” - we beat that one!) While we wish the site could live on, it has suffered from a number of challenges - changes in how people use the site, the advertising industry, and how search engines view the site. We wish the outcome was different – but we’ve always been realistic about when our goals are met and when they aren't.

As of today, you will be able to download your goals and entries. See more about that on the FAQ page. Thanks for 10 great years of goal-setting and achieving.

Read a part of the Quraan everyday (read all 4 entries…)

AT the start of the year I have put a plan to read the Quraan several times a year. I’ve decided to read one Hezb everyday, 20 days per month, so I’d read 10 parts a month. So by this, I’d finish it every three months, so 4 times a year.
(Note that I’ve accounted for missing days, I only need to read 10 parts a month).
About Ramadan, usually I read it once through the month, and that makes the year 11 months, not 12. SO again, taking the easier path, I’d only read the Quraan 3 times per year (1 hezb per day, 10 parts per month + one time in Ramadan :)
I’ve started this plan since the year’s start. I’ve finished 2 times al7amdolilah, and Ramadan’s khatma and now in the final one insha2allah. I hope i’d finish it by the end of the year.
Hope u like the plan.

buy an electronic kitchen scale
Thanks Maya

Actually, my sister got me one as a present. It’s slim, and looks very cool. It can store the weight of the empty container, so when u out the stuff back in the container, it automatically subtracts the weight if the container, and gets you the weight of the stuff only.
It’s great, I LOVE IT

" Will they ever trust us again? " Finished

I really liked the book. I think It was interesting to see the other side of the story. The story of American soldiers and their families who didn’t want to participate in the war, and who actually feel guilty about killing innocent people.
It amazed me to understand that most of the American army are young boys and girls who volunteer only to get a college education, and have no relation what so ever with wars, or what’s happening in Iraq and Afghanistan. They don’t want ot be part of any thing what so ever.
I also felt that the American government fooled them, just like it did for the rest of the world.
I just hope that we don’t do the same mistake that they did to us. I mean, after 9/11, almost every Arab and Muslim were considered a terrorist, and that’s not a bit true. Now after reading the book, I now wish that after those photos from ABu Gharib prison, and related stuff, we don’t think of all the Americans as murderers.

Will they ever trust us again? By Michel Moore

I bought that book years ago, but I’ve decided to read it. Actually I decided to read anything in my Journeys Mansura-Cairo weekly, as I really need a distraction in the way, and it helps me to sleep. And I’ve decided to start with that book. It amazes me how many American soldiers in Iraq and around the world were against the war. Really no one should ever judge a whole country by its leaders, or by its politicians, sometimes they really don’t represent their people.

drink more water
The only way to do this

is by setting up one particular bottle for me, and then drink all of it during the day, at least once. May be I drink more than the bottle, but at least the whole bottle, it’s like 1.5 Liters.
