I read all 3 books, then realized I was supposed to take a test online at the end of each one, so I read them all again and did that, then had to wait for a copy of my birth certificate (which was lost in our last move) to come in the mail before I could register for the test. I studied that practice questions book until I could get at least 80% right and then I took the test and waited FORever to find out whether I’d passed or not. When I finally got the news, it was a Wednesday. I wrote my first offer that Friday! I work with another agent who is a listing agent for REO properties who has given me a share in 6 of her listings, too, for doing the leg work on them, so things are moving right along already! :)

How I did it: I'd perform (usually) at the rehearsal the night before the wedding so that I'd know the cues and where they wanted me to stand during the performance. The day of the wedding, I would have terrifying butterflies which usually didn't go away until the end of the song! Then I would mingle at the reception and feel like a big star at a Grammy afterparty! ;) I got a very spiritual feeling knowing that what I did was s… Read how I did it…
How I did it: It helped us that we came into a large sum of money that enabled us to both put a nice down payment and some money for refurbishing and landscaping into our new home. Thanks Grandma! Read how I did it…
I’ve always wanted to live on a farm. Not necessarily the kind of farm where you have to butcher a pig if you want to eat bacon, or a cow if you want a hamburger, but I wouldn’t mind owning a horse or a donkey and some goats, sheep, and chickens. I’d love to cook vegetables from our own garden for my family again like I did when we owned our pizza shop. But that has never been an option since we moved up to the mountains because our first home was in a subdivision where the lots on our block were no bigger than 1/2 an acre (and ours was 1/5 of one!) So, we made a lifestyle choice to raise our children a bit closer to nature and moved 17 miles further into the mountains. Now we have 2 1/4 acres and I’m already plotting where the hen house is going to go, and the goat shelter, and my gardens! And two of the three mouser cats we saved from an abandoned house in Valley Springs just gave birth to a total of 13 kittens! (Not intended, but an amazing sight to see nonetheless.) I’m in bliss. Life is good! Anybody want a kitten?
I started working for my mom-in-law a couple of years ago to help take some of the burden off of her at the office (she’s a Realtor and heavily into the foreclosure market right now, so needless to say, she’s busy). Since I have such a strong background in administrative duties, customer service and billing, the job she needed done fit me to a T. Now I’m starting to study for my own real estate license, and after the tools I recently acquired at a seminar for virtual office technology and the use of the internet to support and enable the Realtor of the future, I feel like my own future is indeed going to be very bright! My job enables me to be there for my children, yet still have enough time to accomplish a great deal of work. But then, how can I really call it work when it gives you such a great feeling to do it? :)
