How I did it: I put a lot of hard thought into my first tattoo. Ever since I was a little girl, I had been obsessed with flight, feathers, wings, and birds. So, for several months preceding my 18th birthday I spent hours researching wing types (bird, faerie, etc) and drawing out sketches of possible tattoos. How I did it: For my sixteenth birthday, I pestered my mom to take me to a tattoo/piercing place to get my belly button pierced. I had saved up 70$ of my hard earned cash (it was before I had a super steady job) and it was my birthday present to myself.
