It still gets cold here at night, and actually it was a bit cold today at the waters edge in the breeze…I have a nice blanket over my shoulders and a fat kitty cat at my feet. This afternoon I took the little one to the pool and hot tub – the warm water relaxed us both. I’m lucky to have access to a hot tub. It’s good stuff. Ski socks and kitty cat, hot tub and blankets, coffee and sunshine, shower steam and barbecued chicken right off the grill…warmth is ineffably ahhhhhhh

We live disgustingly well here. It’s kooshy. I DO take it for granted sometimes. I was skiing at Kirkwood one day and started talking with the guy sitting next to me on the chairlift. He was just ecstatic to be skiing that day, not to mention alive…He had moved to the United States from Israel not too long before our conversation. He told me about being intensely in tune with the fact that he could die in any number of ways (blown up, shot, etc) every minute of every day.
Unfortunately there are people in the United States who live in conditions that might be described as feeling similar…
I am just thankful for the life I am still living.
...in the wee morning hours right after the 12th…and everything is all clear – I am glad I am a part of this group – the email reminders are so helpful – I NEVER used to check!!!
My cousin just had a double masectomy a couple weeks ago…now I know…whereas I always thought we did not, I now realize we have a cancer history in my extended family – after hearing about my cousin, an aunt and another cousin shared THEIR cancer stories -
Not only is it good that I am checking now, it is essential!!!
