this is one of the worse and most frustrating things to be able to do when you have to teach someone how to do something. Most of the trainees I take in are mouse people and if I do something on the keyboard (because it’s just faster) they get the most amazingly stupefied look on their faces.
Though…I may be projecting my recent frustration with the two trainees I’ve got to deal with this morning. Their fourth day here and I’ve still got to hold their hands to the toilet.

I’m originally from California and found learning Chinese much easier than learning Spanish (and I had Spanish classes for about 12 years).
Chinese has NO verb conjugation and a straight forward grammar. People get really put off by the tones in pinyin but I find that the sooner you start learning characters the sooner you stop thinking of tones and start to realize they’re (like any different word) just said different. This isn’t rising tone where that’s falling, they’re different words (characters) and said differently.
