stay up all night wandering around outside

I did this a few times when I was about 19 living in Olympia, Washington. It’s all about the town you’re in, because if I’d did it here now, I’d be picked up by cops and totally bored up until that point.

There, however, I took a long walk into town down some train tracks (dubbed hobo jungle) with my friend Josh. I was wearing shoes that didn’t fit right and ended up with this huge blister on my foot.

When we got to town I ended up taking them off and decided that the walk back to my apartment would be not-so-fun, so we pan handled outside a grocery store for change for the bus, since we left our wallets back home.

We learned quickly how much it sucks to beg even just for a total of a buck fifty. I think it took about an hour and a half. Ouch.

Still, all things considered, it was an adventure if nothing else, and is highly recommended….under the right circumstances.

I’m finding it very difficult to accomplish this living with my parents, working odd hours of the day. I get home for lunch and just want to make something quickly. I get home from work at 8:00 and am just too tired to start something from scratch and see it out through cleaning.

I used to make just about each and every meal or at least one component from raw foods into something half decent. That was when I lived with a friend and was a student, though (worked on farm at one point, how convenient!)

I’m working on adapting my lifestyle (switching hours, potentially jobs, maybe moving in the more distant future) in part because of this. I think I must also make this more of a priority in the immediate future, because I know that its such an important part of life—both for nourishment and enjoyment.

I’ve pretty much made this my second job (without pay obviously). I’m somewhat discontent where I’m working now and would really like to move onto something that is more fulfilling in a sense of creating things and challenging outside of speaking regularly with discontented people.

Eventually, I’d like to finish my degree in biology or biochemistry, buuuuuut…...
