I went a long time for my last entry and even longer for this one. I was in a rut in 2008 losing and gaining the same three pounds over and over. That continued in 2009 and 2010. Those same pounds over and over and over. On Jan. 1, 2011 I finally became committed to push pass that rut and conquer it. I have lost 9 pounds since then and while it is slow going, a half pound a week, it is consistent and in the right direction. I’m now committed to getting down to my goal weight. Only seven more to go. It’s going to take me the rest of the year probably, but it’s going to be my Christmas present to myself. Then I’m never going to gain the weight back again. Committed.

About a month ago I decided to commit to exercising an hour every day. On the weekend I walk for a hour and today I walked 4.24 miles in one hour which is great. I read that if you can walk at least 4 miles in an hour then you can start jogging. Not sure if I’m up to jogging yet though. During the week I use a portable stationary bike that I keep under my desk at work and I pedal 30 minutes twice a day. Every morning I do a series of yoga stretching exercises and every night I do a series of reps using 5 pound weights. I need to up the number of reps I do and move up to a 10 pound weight. I’ll do that gradually. I also try to do my wii fit exercises at least once a week. I need to get better at that. I weigh myself everyday on the wii so I can log my progress, I just need to commit to adding the exercise part after the weight in. I’ll get there in time.
