See the Cubs win a World Series
it will happen ...it will happen 3 years ago

Hey the Sox got the World Series last year, why can’t the Cubs?

Visit Quebec City
And I'd do it again and again and again 3 years ago

I can’t explain it. I’ve been to Québec City at key moments in my life. Seriously, it’s true. anyway, every time I have gone I have seriously felt like Cinderella when I’m there, and I cry when the ball is over and I have to return home. And I’m not exaggerating on that one.

change education
i don't know if I could truly change education 3 years ago

i would love to help teachers get an insight into things they can do differently especially by using technology in the classroom in a very substantive way. The other thing I would love to see is the realization that if No Child Left Behind is truly going to work, then all students must take the same standardized exams in all 50 states. However, that does not mean that teachers must teach the same way. I trust teachers to know what works best and to seek out good formulas that work with their students. yes, I know that there are the minority of those who don’t do much and want it easy, but there are a good number who are hard working, creative individuals who I trust as professionals to seek out the best methods and practices to use in their classrooms. And yes, I would like to see educators treated as professionals.

I love how you can put everything into different albums and also share between albums! It is so easy to do! I love it!

Never stop learning
One can never stop learning! (On ne peut pas arrêter d'apprendre) 3 years ago

If you are a person who is passionate about what you do; if you are a person who wants to do things; if you are a “do-er”, then you can NEVER stop learning! If you learn from your mistakes, then you won’t stop learning. The people who stop learning are the ones who say “why bother?” The people who stop learning are the ones who don’t care; who don’t vote; who don’t read a book or a newspaper; who don’t meet new people; who go to the same places year after year. I shudder at the thought of ever becoming someone who just sits in front of a tv for the rest of her life thinking she is learning. But really, the real learners are those who get themselves out there and talk to new people and meet a new face, and go to someplace new. Or if they go to certain places over and over and can still come back with one thing, they are life-long learners!

bake a cake from scratch
It 's worth doing! 3 years ago

Thank you Great-Grandma Reid! This cake is my birthday cake. It has been so since my childhood. It’s a delicious chocolate cake with buttercream frosting! YUM!

explore how 43 Things can promote online learning
I would love to try it: I figured out something for foreign language teachers 3 years ago

I brought this web site up at a conference I presented at, and what i can say is that while I wish there were more entries in target languages other than English, this has potential to be a learning exercise where kids define things they want to do and write and talk about them in their target language. There is my 2-1/2 cents for what it is worth!

Make it a vocabulary acquisition exercise too by having kids look up what they don’t know ;-)

Let’s just say this: I did not vote for him!

see one North American dollar come to fruition
Untitled 3 years ago

Okay, it seems stupid. but I would like to see something similar here as is done in Europe. But I know it’s a longshot. Moreover, I would love to see similar things as in the EU here in North America, but I know that once again it is really a longshot, at least if the USA would accept it.

Visit Montreal
Fantastic city! 3 years ago

I have cousins who live in Montreal and trust me, it’s one of my absolute favorite places to visit and go to! None of my friends can understand it because unfortunately they have only been to western Canada and thus believe (I’m sorry my Canadian and Québecois friends) that it is the same place as the U.S. (sigh!) They shall never know the joy of going there! As much as I try to explain that Canada is different and Montreal is not like any other U.S. city , they don’t believe me! But where else can you find a city that STILL has its original buildings and moreover, where can you really find that here in the USA where we tend to tear things down and try to get things marked as historic landmarks in order to avoid losing them? Is there a goal here of visiting Québec City? If not, there ought to be! There is another jewel of North America!

visit great britain
Worth doing: Been there at least 5 or 6 times 4 years ago

I have relatives who live there and have seen London and thanks to friends, parts of southern England. Hope to one day explore the north and west of the country.
