SO WORTH IT.

23 days left!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 3 years ago

Oh yes.

The passports have been procured, the hotel reservations have been made (& confirmed), I even changed our outgoing flight becuase I was worried we wouldn’t make our connection in Chicago (we now have a 3 hour layover), tax refunds have been received, and today I got my backpack from ebags. There was a moment of panic when I thought they sent me the wrong bag, but then I realized that I just wasn’t looking it at it thoroughly (the straps for the backpack were hidden). We have a cat sitter lined up to take care of the beast. A few more loose ends to tie before we leave, but all major things have been taken care of. I CAN NOT WAIT TO LEAVE.

pay off my student loans

It’s never gonna happen. Debt: the american way.

have more fun
Untitled 4 years ago

Making a concerted effort to be more social & rid myself of social anxiety sans drugs is a good idea. Just act like you’re cool & tell that voice in your head to shut the fuck up. This is by no means the end of my anxious road, but my life has defenitely gotten more fun & active in the last few months thanks to honing in on this goal.

get out of admin work
Untitled 4 years ago

I somehow have removed myself out of the secretary career track through a friend at the hospital. I have just gotten a job as a data analyst/excel bitch for the dept of nursing. No more filing, faxing or fetching for this girl! It’s done, I’m out of secretary land! Hang in there, admins. My advice is hone your skills & be nice to everyone, you never know when an opportunity will pop up.

become better at small-talk
important goal 4 years ago

What I had to was just suck it up and grit my teeth and just talk about stupid shit like the weather, because in many situations, that’s all people will feel comfortable discussing with you. Just do it! It’ll make things much less awkward. Worth doing.

learn to invest
Untitled 4 years ago

i have a 403 (b) w/ an “agressive” strategy, but still have a long ways to go to investing other money. Although, I think a good component of achieving this would be to actually have money to invest, no?

lose 20 lbs
Untitled 4 years ago

Most experts agree that just losing 10% of your body weight can help with health issues and while I currently have perfect blood pressure and very few real health problems, I want to avoid the plauge of diabetes & heart related issues that are related to obesity. This will involve curing of my beer & saturated fat vices, but I’m hoping that a relatively small goal vs. a giant goal (losing 100 pounds) will make this process a little less painful.

decide what I want to do with my life
another vague goal 4 years ago

I don’t think there is a straight answer to this. It’s more of a process than a “goal”. I think the best thing to realize is that your life is your own and you have to do what’s best for you.

Get married in Las Vegas

I’ve realized this is kind of a silly goal, especially since coordinating getting our broke ass starving artist friends to Las Vegas would be a colossal pain in the ass.

Joe filed his passport application last week, so that should be in the mail momentarily. We also booked the first 5 nights in London at the Jesmond Dene Hotel. Next up: Amsterdam & Copenhagen hotel booking. Or maybe Belgium. It’s coming together …. can’t wait to go!!

Dress better

I’ve started to work on dressing better for work and am starting to get rid of my old clothes and get new ones. It’s going to be a winter of v-neck sweaters and pants for me!

starting, starting 4 years ago

So Joe and I have decided to travel to Europe next year for three weeks. Our destinations (for now) are London, Amsterdam, & Copenhagen. Copenhagen is one there b/c my old friend Stefan lives there & I want to visit him. They also seem to have a really great gay night life. So the first thing we need to do is get Joe his passport. I am currently on a search for cheap-o plane tickets.
