A remarkably beautiful place. The shoreline is amazing, and the light houses and crashing surf are something that you don’t want to leave. The locals are a little stand-offish, but once you get used to it, they are actually very kind and helpful.

10. Watch Less News
1 entry2 people
I conducted an experiment, in which I didn’t watch or listen to any News about global, national, or local affairs, for thirty days. I used to be the kind of person who wanted to be up on on these things, and could hold a great conversation with anyone concerning current events. After one month, I discovered that my blood pressure had gone down, my attitude had improved, and perhaps more importantly, the world hadn’t changed.
You don’t want to learn this on the public roads. Try an empty parking lot on the weekend. I taught someone many years ago, in a 1969 Chevelle with a a 427. Somehow, I survived (although barely). This accident didn’t occur during the training, but it was the result of a manual shift transmission problem that I incurred. I would suggest learning on a small car (civic, accord, sentra). Pick a safe spot to practice, and you’ll do fine.
