Read the book, and the first two sequels (Restaurant at the End of the Universe and Life, The Universe and Everything). They’re all short and very readabale. If you can, also read (or, better yet, listen to) the BBC radio shows. And maybe watch the BBC TV series. Ideally, do this all before the movie comes out later this year.
