Am awake at 5:58 am bc I procrastinated at work and now have to put together slides detailing the pros and cons of two database platforms. But I’m amazed that I’m awake. I went to sleep at 1 am!

Volunteered with NY Cares on the 9th. Got paired up with a man who shuffles backwards on his wheelchair. Normally I really enjoy volunteering and meeting new people. But this guy ignored me the WHOLE time, speaking and making eye contact only with the Indian girl I was with (he was VERY interested in the India-Pakistan conflict). After about 30 minutes, I stopped trying to pay attention and I allowed him to roll into the ditches (well, he was saved by the Indian girl). And he wanted me to feed him bananas so I made sure he got his banana (“Oops, was that too much banana?”). It was the longest volunteer thing ever – especially since he went over by an hour so that I was hanging out with him for a total of 3 hours! But I will try another volunteer event soon.
Was sick but went on a blind date (courtesy of grumblebox) on Tuesday, the 11th. It was really nice – cute date, jazz, and close to home. I think I’ll have to do it again.
