The united Pride of the three Baltic states is going to take place next year in Riga. We just had our first meeting in Sigulda and this one day gave me more helpful ideas than 9 days in Iceland altogether. The Baltics are so alike and with these tools we’re gonna start public debates and hopefully some change will take place soon.
Just got the answer for the application in which we stated that the Parliament should hurry up the discussion about the partnership law. The answer, though, was heartbreakingly absurd. The guy said that at first they’re gonna have to make the whole new Family Law ‘cause there are so much more important things to correct there. And once the Family Law is finished they can only then start discussing the Partnership Law. It is hurtful to all rainbow families in Estonia because it basically says that they’re family is still of no importance to the country. Instead, they could only do one change in the family law which states that marriage is between a man and a woman and a lot of problems would instantly be solved..
I want to believe..
That’s what I’ve been about the whole evening. Reading a comparative table just out of pure interest. And maybe even found something for myself. I’ve grown up to be paranoid about religion, my sister even studies theology, but somehow a mystic yearning for something bigger and unexplainable and fulfilling remains..
So soon I’m gonna study the holy scripts of the Baha’i Faith a little more thoroughly and see if there’s a big enough reason for me to quit all sorts of alcohol and everything. Also the fact that they seem to be against any prejudice and fighting towards human rights, but they are still quite against homosexuality makes me a bit nervous about these things..
we’ll see..
