I don’t weigh myself a lot, but when I added this goal I’d been at a gym and hit 208 on their scale. Last week I was at a gym and stepped on the scale and was 190. Lots of my friends have commented over the last couple months that I’ve lost some weight. Its nice to hear, and its good to lose some weight, but unfortunately its been on the stress diet. I’ve had some bad stuff happen in the last couple months, and have been worried and upset a lot, and don’t eat. I guess there’s a good side to everything, losing weight is good, its probably good for my blood pressure, I just wished I’d done it a different way.

I’ve done a couple solo vacations, a month in England, Ireland and Scotland, and a week long ski vacation in Innsbruck Austria, and a couple camping trips in Glacier Park in Montana. The freedom is great, go where you want, see and do what you want. They both were vacations that I’d been wanting to do for a long time, but couldn’t get any friends or relatives to go with me so I decided to go on my own.

Well, maybe mine wasn’t but my grandma’s was!!! I’ve made several huckleberry pies, both cooked double-crust pies, and open-faced fresh huckleberry pies. Fresh Huckleberry pie is amazing, kind of like a fresh Strawberry pie only with Huckleberries. A single baked pie crust with a layer of cream cheese on the bottom, then filled with Huckleberries and then a cooked huckle berry syrup is poured into the pie. Once it cools and thickens top it with whipped cream.

My brothers in-town visiting from Michigan and he helped me with the “barn”! We framed in the front door and window and now all thats left is to side the front and install the door and window and I can call it done! Not quite there yet, but getting close.

.. although I’ve never done any real open water sea-kayaking, but I’ve been a few times on Puget Sound and in Lake Union, and Lake Washington. Seems like a fun way to explore the water ways.

My brother helped me, we did one for me,one for my aunt, and a small paving-stone walkway for him. Hard work but very satisfying and enjoyable (except all the sweat and sore muscles part). Laying paving stones is fun and kind of creative, its all the prep work thats hard, but a good foundation is key. We dug out dirt down about 8 inches, the hauled in gravel and spread it and compacted it, then a layer of sand and we leveled it, and then lay the paving-stones.

It was ok, but I guess I was a little dissapointed or thought it would be better than it was. Basically just a bunch of guys with long confusing Greek names killing each other.
Maybe I missed something?

Dungeness Spit Lighthouse. Its not a real tall lighthouse so the climb wasn’t too bad, but the view was great!

and tedious if your a teenager and its one of your chores.
I grew up on a ranch, so I’ve fed many many farm animals. Hay to cows and horses, grain to cows, feed pellets to horses and cows. I remember being about 5 and letting cows and horses eat pellets out of my hand, those big slimy lips and tongues and I was sure they were going to bite my fingers off. We fed hay to our yearlings in the corrals by our barn and we also fed hay off the back of our truck to the cows out in the winter pasture. We never had pigs so I may never have actually fed a pig. We often had orphan calves that we would feed milk with a big bottle twice a day. And I’ve fed chickens, probably the most entertaining farm animals to feed. We would toss out grain or little bits of suet that we’d run through a hamburger grinder and the chickens would run around the yard chasing each other and the bits of food! The chickens were also entertaining running around chasing bugs, but that doesn’t really count as feeding them.

I loved this book until the last half page. It was a little slow in the beginning, but I liked it, good story, interesting plot, but then it just ends. No resolution, not even any clue about what happens? I didn’t get it.
I think that this is a perfect example of when an author gets enough noteriety that they won’t listen to a good editor, this book could have made a great short-story with a little good editing.

Just got back from a spring fling finale at Mt Bachelor in Oregon! Icy in the mornings, slush in the afternoon and lots and lots of sunshine!! My last ski day this season was April 23, the latest I’ve ever skiied!
I think I’m going to mark this goal as accomplished, and then convert it to a goal like “Ski at least 15 days in the 06/07 season”??

and not even always in a zoo, although some zoo bears are cool
http://www.zoo.org/bearcam/cam.html
But I’ve also seen bears in the wild many times, but luckily it was usually from the safety of my car, or they were a mile away. Mostly small black or brown bears, but I did see grizzlies in Glacier Park, but it was through the binoculars and they were a half-mile away up on the mountainside.
My closest encounter was one summer when I was working in the forest in northwest Montana, I was walking calmly down a mountain road back to our truck and I came around a corner and there was a black bear walking calmly UP the road! We looked at each other and then we both turned and ran, I went uphill and he went down! All’s well that ends well!

Just got back from 4 days in lake tahoe, skiied two days at Heavenly, 1 at Kirkwood and 1 at Sierra Tahoe. So far this season I’ve gotten in 3 days in Sun Peaks in Canada, 6 days in Sun Valley, and 4 days in Tahoe, 13 days, a pretty good year for me!

My project just got terminated before I had a chance to quit, so should I mark this goal as completed, or on hold, or remove it?
Or maybe I should wait and see what my new assignment is like and maybe I’ll keep this as my #1 Goal!!

My first week long ski trip, 6 days of skiing!! Sun Valley hasn’t had new snow in a while so the conditions weren’t great, but they had a really good base, so it wasn’t too bad; lots of hard-pack and moguls, but also lots and lots of sunshine and blue skies!! We had two days where it was -4 in the morning, but it was sunny!
Stayed at the Edelwiess Condo’s which are right across the street from the Warm Springs Base Chair, so that was really, really convenient, it was probably less that 50 yards from the door of our condo to the chair-lift! The condo’s are a little funky, built in the 60’s and probably haven’t really been upgraded since then, but the location can’t be beat!
