This is the third month in a row that I’ve paid $400 toward my school loan. This was possible because this is the last debt I have left (my credit cards are paid off). I plan to continue at this pace until it is paid off.

I’m making much progress in this goal as I’m weeding out old books that I don’t want by giving them away on bookmooch.com. Check out the books I’m giving away (currently 175) by viewing my inventory: http://bookmooch.com/inventory/matthewdavid
I’m also getting quite a few books that I want by mooching them from other people.
I’m planning on building bookshelves later this year, possibly over Christmas break.
I’m going to focus on just Ruby first. Later I’ll determine if I need to learn Rails. I’m mostly a system administrator, so web development isn’t on the top of my list.
Ruby, however, seems to be a great language for small application and system administration scripts. I’m continuing to pursue proficiency in Ruby by using various tutorials, practice projects of personal interest, and the videos at vtc.com
