How I did it: First of all, I got into debt because I unwisely loaned money to someone I trusted. It turned out that I was scammed.I was able to borrow money against my house to pay off a high interest loan, but credit card debts kept mounting. I finally confessed what was going on to my financial planner, who was objective and worked with me to pay off all of the debt with money I had invested earlier. Read how I did it…
How I did it: I took stock of the goals I had written previously and decided which ones to concentrate on. I wrote entries spelling out how I planned to complete them. I wrote some more short term goals that were doable. I focused on accomplishment, completion and movement in the right direction. Read how I did it…
How I did it: I went to meetings, calculated my state retirement payments if I retire in 2009, next year, or in two years. I also talked to some trusted friends with financial experience, and listened to my sons' concerns. Mostly, I went with what my intuition and my heart told me. Read how I did it…

What a lovely weekend! Friday was pizza with Neil, Randy and Daniel, followed by seeing a wonderful local production of “Our Town.” Saturday was brunch at the Tea Company and an appetizer/dessert potluck at Iva’s. Today was a wonderful church service and annual meeting, watching two movies, dinner out with Kevin and Neil, and a drive around town. Always lovely on a Sunday!
Wonderful parade this morning with lots of firetrucks, old cars, kids and even bagpipes. Shared the experience with friends, and we laughed a lot. The weather cooperated (cooled down considerably), and it was lovely!
Not worrying about my car. I will take steps toward getting it repaired tomorrow.
Found out a friend at one of my schools was offered another position after being laid off. Hurray!
