Actually did some proper off-road mountain biking in Scotland at the weekend and it was fantastic (if a little dangerous – I have a few scars to prove it). Need to make sure I do it again, though maybe somewhere a little less severe!

See below, found a YouTube video of the final decent I did on Sunday – though I didn’t go anywhere near as fast as these guys, and I took the chicken runs round almost all of the jumps!!...

...I hit a tree and fell off at the place the guy gets to at around 2:30!!

I’ve got a 1986 Type 25 VW Transporter (the blocky not so attractive one!) and it needs a little work.

Jobs to do:

(1) Fix the fuel leak!
(2) Stem the oil leaks a bit more!
(3) Fit the mud-flaps.
(4) Finish the interior coverings.
(5) Sort the exhaust leak.
(6) The list could go on….but getting some of the above done would be an achievement!

I sort of learned bass guitar some 20 years ago, but was never very good and stopped around 15 years ago. I now plan to start again and learn properly before my mid-life crisis kicks in!

I’m trying to keep a blog going on the subject as well – partly as a place to record good stuff i find out there on the WWW and partly because i hope it will become a useful resource for others.
