I went and got the fake nails put on at a salon. They looked really pretty and I didn’t want to ruin them. I kept getting them filled/fixed at the salon until they were too long to keep. I then had them removed and my fingers nails cut short. My nails were thin from being filed down at the beginning of my process. I invested in some really nice nail polish in a color that I loved and kept them painted. I haven’t nibbled once in over two months!
Definitely worth the time and the little bit of money I put into it.
I took my mothers old guitar that sits in the corner, lonely and unappreciated, into my bedroom and looked up chords to a song that I thought would be easy enough to learn.
After sitting on my bed with a guitar for two hours I was proud to say that I could play 10 different chords and could stumble through two Taylor Swift songs. I was ecstatic.
I’ve been practicing a few times a week now and I’ve founded that the hardest thing for me is picking up on the strum pattern. I’ve asked people all over different forums and on youtube what the strum pattern is for whatever song and usually get the same response “Its hard to describe you just kind of have to strum around until you get it right. I know its confusing but you’ll get it I promise!”
I’ve finally taken what they had to say to heart and agree with what they were telling me. If you listen to the song enough and tinker around with different ways to strum you eventually pick up on the rhythm. Its a cool feeling to figure it out by yourself.
I’m currently looking into buying a guitar of my own, something a tad smaller that fits my style.
I haven’t been dancing long enough to be promoted onto pointe but I have recently danced en pointe and I love it. I feel so accomplished.
