i’ve done them twice; the first time was an amazing, wonderful experience… second time not so good; freaked me out a little.
i’d put the bad experience down to where i was, who i was with and that they were slightly stronger and not freshly picked…
i think all those things are important to consider, especially the place and people. and as with anything; don’t over do them…
it took me a few years from when i first considered taking them to when i actually did and i’m glad i waited.

This challenge got off to rather a bad start.
The first book i tried to read was At swim, two boys; this turned out to have a beginning almost like the stream of consciousness narrative in Ulysses. After falling asleep twice while attempting to read it i gave up. i’m assured it gets much better and easier to read but i wanted something a little easier to begin with.
so i continued…
reading a book called blood sugar but got irritated a third of the way through by a characters prejudiced views of the irish…
i’ve also started reading anais nin’s diraries, pratchett’s night watch, the last of the dragons by e. nesbit, from london with love (an erotic novel about female spies, tehe, i found it in a cafe, it claims to have passion on very page!)... and countless others, none of which i finished.
so here’s the shameful truth; the only book i’ve completed reading this summer has been harry potter and the deathly hallows…
oh the shame.
:)
oh and i bought the book on tape of brideshead revisited in a charity shop for a few cent. listened to that. that kinda counts…
so 2 down, 3 to go.

i’ve already seen about 60 of the films on the list so i thought i might as well… it would have probably happen eventually anyway.
so i’ve looked through the list and am a bit disappointed by the top 20, most of them i feel are completely overrated.
shawshank redemption? the godfather… star wars…
why are film lists always the same, people are just too scared to put anything different.
anyway, i’m going to start with the older films and work my way up to the present. grindhouse and some other recent films haven’t come out here, where i live anyway.
so, i’m starting with M because it’s the oldest i think (apart from metropolis which ive seen already) and who could resist a film noir staring peter lorre… yay!

3 months and 5+ books and no college to get in the way. it seems like an easy enough goal i just want to be conscious of it.
hmm, i’ll have to make a list of the books before i begin.

I’m half way there and I stopped about 2 months ago.
It’s a really easy thing to knit; it only took me about a week of knitting irregularly to complete the first half… but then i got distracted.
oh well, I’ll soon complete it.

I think it’s time to tick this off my list.
He’ll always hold a place in my heart but i don’t think about my life in terms of him anymore.
I hate to say that it was worth doing because I know I’ve lost so much by getting over him… I’ve forgotten what it felt like to be with him in the good times and the feeling of loving someone makes you feel so alive.
but now i can move on and find that feeling with someone else which is truly exciting.

My blood is so pretty and the nurses are really nice and friendly and we had a good chat.
and they gave me free Guinness and crisps which was an added bonus…
I’ve been so crazy to have keep putting it off when I could have been giving blood for 2 years now.
oh well, now I’m helping people.
next time I’m taking a photo of my pretty blood.

the 80/85% type is brilliant. all i need is half a shot to get me going. It’s an acquired taste, but i like it.
Be warned though, don’t over do it. I’ve seen people in a terrible state after too much, course that might be the same for any alcohol…

I’d love to know my country a little better… I don’t think I’ll ever be finished exploring it though.

this will probably never happen since i don’t drive and i live in Ireland where there are no drive-ins… but maybe someday.
like the previous post i’ve wanted to go ever since i saw Greese as a kid.
of course i’d have to have someone to make out with… i’d say they’re pretty boring otherwise and that’s another thing i’ve never done; made out in a car.

when you’re in university and your classes have hundreds of people in them you begin to wonder if your face sticks out, does anyone notice you? i don’t want to blend in with everyone else. i’m only looking to stand out appearance wise, but I’m not going to change who i am completely by dressing like a punk or something (i’d just look like a fake anyway).
any ideas for some subtle changes i could make? or is it a pointless goal? how will i know i stand out anyway?

I never drink to excess (in other words I’ve never passed out, blanked out or thrown up) but recently I’ve found my self drinking more frequently.
I tried to give up alcohol for a week for charity but after a particularly stressful day (my bag got stolen and I missed my essay deadline) I caved and had a couple drinks. I still got the money for the charity however…
I never realised it would be so hard but drinking is so much apart of my culture (I’m an Irish student!), everyone around me drinks and I can’t imagine going out to a party or club and not even having one drink.
I don’t think I’ll be completing this goal anytime soon with Christmas coming but come January I may even try for a month.

i used to hug everyone, i used to give hugs to my friends, family and people i’d just met.
i didnt think anything had changed until i bumped into an old friend one day when i was with a new friend. i hadnt seen this old friend in a while so i gave her a big hug. my new friend commented later that she never thought i was much of hug giver. i realised i wasnt anymore, i’ve even started shaking peoples hands, what’s happened to me?!? is it just a case of growing older? should i return to my old ways?

My first kiss with my first love was in the rain. We were at a music festival and the music combined with the rain and the fact he was an amazing kisser made me feel dizzy (in the good way of course).
If you want to have a great kiss in the rain I’d recommend it be a first kiss, it needs that excitement and passion; otherwise you start to notice the cold and wetness. Also it goes without saying warm summer rain is better then the cold windy winter type.
I’d recommend it. :)
