I am doing really well with not eating baked goods or treats, but not so well in an area that, before, was not a problem. I have been sick the past couple of days and I have a Starbucks habit (usually of the nonfat latte variety) but since my throat hurt I got a big, slushy drink, first at Borders, then today at Panera. No whipped cream though.
Last night I went out to eat and ate too big of a dinner, but it was at Boba House so it was a lot of tofu and brown rice in vegan curry sauce, which could be a lot worse.
Today I have eaten:
a peanut butter sandwich, small apple, mini box of raisins (breakfast)
small honeydew green tea thing from Panera (unnecessary snack)
1 chocolate almond Clif Bar (lunch)
For dinner I am having rice noodles in a Thai peanut sauce with stir fried veggies and mango slices. Plus gym.

I am a secretary/receptionist/personal assistant. I get to work before anyone else does. It is just my boss and me in the office, and sometimes she doesn’t come in until late afternoon, so I end up piddling away at least an hour playing on the internet. I used to work on my grad school online applications, but now that they are all in, I am just taking quizzes, browsing recipes, and window shopping. I just took a quiz for absolutely no reason; it said I am a dreamer. That’s another thing: I look at airfare and travel websites, sometimes to plan the trip I am taking this summer, but sometimes to plan the one I am taking next summer or a random trip that I hope to someday take but I have no idea when.

My no-sweets plan is actually going pretty well. I think, for me, saying something is completely off limits is actually easier than trying to limit my consumption. We went to the movies and Charlie got Twizzlers and I didn’t eat a single one. I also didn’t eat any Gummy Savers when he threw some in the basket at the store. Also, I am excited about baking myself a tiny reward. Small batch baking is great. This weekend (assuming I survive the week without eating sweets) I will make tiny red velvet cake (it will bake in a ramekin, so it is really small). I reduce the fat with applesauce, neufchatel cheese in the icing, and cholesterol-free egg replacer too, so it is nowhere near as horrible as the giant cookie from Starbucks that I would be eating. I am excited.
