hike the inca trail to machu pichu
Wow. Just wow.

While we didnĀ“t do the traditional Inca Trail hike, we did a 4-day trek through the jungle that included mountain biking and hiking on parts of the Inca Trail (there are actually about 8 Inca Trails into Machu Picchu). I went with my sister and her friend and we had an amazing time. We got up at 4am to get up to Machu Picchu by bus by 6am – in time to see the mist shrouding the ancient city and watch the sun rise above the Andes. What a beatiful, magical, sacred place! I even hiked a hula hoop with me on the entire trek so I could hoop at Machu Picchu. Best hooping spot ever! We climbed Waynapicchu, the mountain overlooking the ruins, and I hooped there, too. It was an amazing experience, I must go back! :)

go to more rainbow gatherings (read all 3 entries…)
Regional in Oregon - 2007

As part of our “volksvegan adventure” (www.volksvegan.org) we stopped at a regional gathering in central Oregon. Though much smaller than the national gatherings, it was a wonderful taste of the rainbow spirit. I’d love to go to more of the local/regional gatherings.

be a better mountain biker
Moab

Although I’m no expert at mountain biking and prefer the easier leisurely ride, I went to Moab, Utah recently, a mountain biking mecca. The landscape there is suited to some crazy mountain biking on slickrock. It was one of the hardest things I’ve ever done, and I ended up walking my bike on the scary parts, but hey, I did the slickrock trail and a couple others! Now I just need to do more biking on a regular basis.
