New Year’s 2009: success! It was weird, though, not ambrosial like I thought. Yeasty and sweet. But awesome! ... maybe do it again for graduation?

How I did it: It simply took a visit to the library. My math class is so so boring, so I read snippets of The Old Man and the Sea when the teacher wasn't looking.I finished it today. I'm not sure what to think of it yet. I wasn't expecting it to be so simplistic - there are probably deep meanings I haven't thought about yet.Overall I really liked it, and I'm going to find The Sun Also Rises and try it again. =) Read how I did it…
How I did it: In my spare time & over the summer, I looked up math, mostly on the internet. I asked my math teacher what she taught in grade 12 and went from there. I'm still going to benefit from the course, but I feel happy with a basic grounding in conics, limits, rates of change, trig identities ... wheee! 99%, here I come. Read how I did it…
So I have this beautiful journal and some nice ideas. I want to base it off Traci Bunker, a.k.a. bestill .

beautiful!
I bought a jar of india ink and some brushes. going for the layered look, but also want to keep it clean and bright. lots of yellow and blue.
There’s a project called Embodiment where you journal every day for a year. eep!
I’m beginning my third month on Cipralex. The quest to convince my doctor and parents failed, obviously.
It is actually helping. It’s a lot easier to have conversations, to speak my mind, be criticized without taking it to heart, walk around in public … it’s great.
Days when I forget to take it are scary: just a few hours after I’m supposed to have taken it, it’s like I’ve landed right in the middle of a depressive spell. My anxiety skyrockets, my compulsions come back, I become depressed and reclusive. I honestly cannot believe how I lived 12 months like that.
Getting to therapy is also pretty difficult: driving there is an hour, and she’s open only on school days – I can’t miss a day every 2 weeks, not in senior year, so I can’t get therapy as often as I’d like.
SUMMARY: Meds are okay. They are really awesomely helping me out, but I’d still rather be off them and be whole, happy, and functioning without chemicals. I will be someday.
