50. Eating Nutella straight from the jar.

51. Getting all domestic and planning recipes to make food from scratch.

52. My new jogging route along the Yarra River in Melbourne.

53. Crying. The reason I cried was not very nice, but it makes me feel better later having let it all out.

54. Getting inspired by travel memoirs.

55. Latino culture.

56. Running high.

57. Being blonde for the first time in my life, even though it turned out a bit brassy. Never mind, I still like the new texture and boldness of my hairstyle.

58. Spending a Sunday afternoon home alone, blasting out The Distillers.

59. Visiting my new friends in Carlton.

60. Vintage record covers.

61. Wearing the colour yellow.

62. Pastel pink nail polish.

63. Red lipgloss. (Haha, re. previous 3, I swear I’m not always this vain!)

64. The effect on my overall look of well-fitting jeans.

65. SNEAKER SHOPPING! It’s a chore to shop for classic feminine shoes like boots, because they’re not really me. But I die and go to shoe heaven whenever I step foot in Hype. Currently on the look-out for the perfect Adidas (or maybe Puma First Round) walkers.

66. Meeting online friends IRL, and they turn out to be really sweet and fun and lovelylovelylovely!

67. Manu Chao. So cool!

68. Walking around listening to summery reggae music on miserable Melbourne days. Take that, rainy weather!

69. Hehehe…

cure my hyperacusis
Untitled 3 months ago

I had to leave the living room today because of a housemate eating noisily, but I was already vulnerable due to PMS grumpiness. I’ve been taking Lexapro for about 5 weeks now (for bipolar, with my hyperacusis being part of the problem) and I think it’s made some difference.

I generally don’t get so fired up about little things that annoy me. I still notice them, of course, but I’m able to deal with it relatively calmly. For example, my boyfriend (whom I met and started dating after beginning my meds) makes some smallish sounds when eating and drinking, but I can usually cope with it.

So, better, but I still have a long way to go. Any tips to supplement the job my meds are already doing?

44. Makeshift sheet hammocks hung from bunk frames. Much fun has been had lately getting in and out, especially with other people, and, at one stage, a dog. Good times!

45. Nutella pizza.

46. The new kids I look after. They’re such cuties!

47. Spooning, and the inevitable spork it leads to. ;)

48. Completely letting loose and dancing on tables at karaoke.

49. Putting on some classic soul and funk and dancing around the bedroom to it with housemates. Stevie Wonder, Curtis Mayfield, etc.
