That everyone just assumes you know how to do … for some people it’s as basic as breathing or walking or talking. Kids are supposed to learn how to swim.
But I was one kid who didn’t. Don’t know why I never learned … it just never happened. Neither of my parents swim or are that interested in water activities so it was just never one of those things that was introduced enough for me to get the hang of it. Didn’t have the opportunity to take swimming lessons, and no one to take the time to teach me on their own.
I’m sure the “do or die” reflex would kick in if I was ever in the situation where I had to swim to live.
But I’d really love to be able to enjoy the water and swim for pleasure like everyone else.

Because it’s not that I gave up on this … it’s just not as important to me anymore as other things I’d rather being doing … and since we’re only allowed 43 Things on 43 Things, well, something had to go, and this was one of them.
I still think cob houses are neat and maybe someday I’ll pursue this goal again. But today is not that day, and tomorrow is not looking so hot either. I just have other things I deem more important.
But good luck to you all who are sticking with this goal … I hope your houses turn out wonderfully!

Have plans to see Click Five next week, and the Rolling Stones and Rascal Flatts next month. Really looking forward to it!
