My wife bought me a Pearl cajon a few weeks ago. I discovered it on youtube and realized I had to have one. After beating on it for a few weeks, it’s clear that like all musical insturments, there’s much more than meets the eye/ear. It will take training, practice and time to turn it from a wooden box into a musical insturment. But it’s a heck of alotta fun! I love it!
I spent four months there in 1996. I dated a girl whose family owned a home there. Very Celtic in culture and landscape, it’s a “presque-ile” on “Le Cote Sauvage” of Brittany. I have very fond memories of long bike rides after dinner around a seaside countryside that time forgot. I fished daily for food and dug clams. Played petonk with Mssr. Hardelain and visited his wine cellar. In fact right in front of the house were, supposedly, the footprints of the Virgin Mary in a rather large rock formation. People from Belgium would show up and want to see them. Four of the sweetest and most carefree months of my life.
