Our friends we recently visited in Saipan are locals, so they got some permits for us to stay overnight on Managaha island. It was absolutely a fun, amazing, and beautiful experience! There’s nothing like getting up at dawn and wading out into the warm Pacific ocean. Only downside was it was so uncomfortable we couldn’t sleep!

How I did it: My strategy is to run as slowly and as long as I can without gettingwinded and needing to stop... and doing that 2-4x/week. So far I am almost up to running 2 miles without stopping! And that's without inducing my asthma. :) Woo! Read how I did it…
Woo! Bringing lunches to work sure helps. Salads are super easy and not too boring if you make your own bit of vinagrette on the fly. Add different herbs and vinegars to keep things interesting. And a variety of veggies to top it all off. It won’t keep you full the whole day though, so remember to also eat a good breakfast with fiber and protein, and bring a fruit snack for the afternoon like an apple or strawberries, yum!
Wow, they really mean it about the mask. Spare no expense. I went 3 days using crappy masks that didn’t seal proprly underwater, and finally found one that worked for the last day. It sure makes a big difference! The more expensive masks aren’t necessarily better, just different—try them all. And when you think you have a good one, try it in a pool if you can before you walk away with it. Yep!
