I went to the tour in Birmingham. It made it a whole lot more exciting since Taylor Hicks is from Birmingham!! I got to the venue about 2 pm (5 hours early) in hopes of getting autographs before the show. I saw several Idols walking around by the busses, but only Bucky stopped for a while to sign autographs before the show (at least while I was there). The concert was AWESOME, especially Taylor’s part (this was my second time seeing him live – I also saw him live when he came to B’ham about two weeks before he won the title). After the concert, I stayed outside by the busses for more autographs. We saw all of the Idols at some point, but only Lisa, Mandisa, and Paris signed autographs for us (the rest of the Idols were rushed to the busses and away from the venue). The night ended by seeing Corey Clark (yes, the Paula Abdul affair Corey Clark) hawking his CD!!

I am planning to go to the American Idol concert on August 8 in Birmingham. I got floor seats, too. I hope I get a good view of everyone. :) Hopefully I’ll be able to knock out two things with this one. :D

I was on American Idol on the Wednesday, May 17, 2006 episode. I saw Taylor Hicks when he came to Birmingham after he made the top 3. The American Idol cameras got me on film, and I was in one of the tighter crowd shots because I got there really, really early and I was toward the front. :D

I TOTALLY reccommend seeing a contestant in their homecoming if you just want to be on American Idol (as opposed to auditioning). I am very happy with accomplishing my goal because I got to see how the newspeople and camera people do their work, and I saw the American Idol before he was American Idol!!

I also plan to audition in a year or two (depends on how convenient the auditions happen to be), but that’s a whole different goal. XD
