get another tattoo
Bear Fishing by Moonlight

This year when we went to Austin for a holiday visiting our friends (as well as sneakily attending SXSWi), I booked in for another tattoo with Karen Slafter, the most talented tattoo artist I’ve ever encountered.

This one is of a bear fishing—the colours may seem a little strange, but the intention is to have a moonlit scene around it all eventually. I was worried it would hurt a lot because I had a bad motorbike accident a few years back and tend to have pain in my back muscles generally, but in fact Karen tattoos so lightly that it was fine.

I’d heartily recommend getting a tattoo if you want one, but also would say spend plenty of time thinking about what you want! You need to live with it for a long time :-)

This was definitely worth doing!

So much so that we’ve started up a blog for people who do this to share their experiences: http://blog.ilovebelleandherbs.co.uk
