How I did it: Saved money, came with a "friend" and drove so I could bring more "stuff".  This was tough though and I would not recommend it to people unless you have thoroughly researched the routes, have a good safe vehicle and a sense of adventure.  Your ok to the border but when you cross if you want to drive on the new good Mexican highways/thruways you pay a pretty hefty toll.  In some cases up to $7 or $8 US and possibly more.&nbs… Read how I did it…
