Still at it! Teaching piano to 4 students now…and play accompaniment (sp???) for a woodwind group. So exciting! :)

maybe i will think about adding to my little collection of PHP knowledge…but that’s all. i don’t need to know that…right now! :)
Little Arahna and I are working together to crochet a blanket for her little sister coming in December…
Blanket #1!
After wanting to go for a few years, I found myself on a plane bound to Ukraine this summer. For two weeks, I worked at a summer camp for the orphans of Kharkiv, Ukraine. It was a wonderful, challenging experience. I encourage everyone to go on at least one short-term trip…there’s sooo much to do for the kingdom!!
Recycling bins have been set up for the papers, plastics, glass, and aluminum. Recycling locations have been identified in town! Thanks to my green roomie!!!
I thought I would have the perfect means to do this, but the girl moved out of town!
Thanks to Karen…my music horizons are continually expanding. She’s got me into a bit of indie stuff. I’m thankful for Itunes gift cards, as well, which are assisting me in my endeavor to obtain and listen to more music on a regular basis.
A good and very smart friend of mine sent this link to help me get started in this endeavor. So, i’m going to share it here for the other 400 something people that want to learn html as well!
I’ve been to Barnes & Nobles a number of times looking for a book explicitly about embroidery. I’ve yet to find one. But, yesterday, I came across some antique books about crocheting, knitting, and embroidery at the Tree Streets yardsales. The earliest one was published in 1886 and the “newest” one was put out by 1906. So, now I will learn to embroider! I will have to use them carefully, but they have some great instructions on embroidery…basic stitches, fancy stitches, etc. I only hate that now…I will have very little time to play!
I have done a bit of visiting…but, it’s impossible to visit every church in the Tri-Cities. We literally have a church on every corner. Smack dab in the Bible Belt of the South.
But, I did find out about Grace Fellowship Church in Kingsport (GFK) and loved its emphasis on building community and reaching the community. It’s also full of engineers that are employed by Eastman there in Kingsport…so, that might be a better fit for me anyways. It’s a young church…still small enough to get to know people…yet, I know it’s going to grow quickly. I feel a bit ambivalent…I loved my first church back in my hometown in N.C. But, it feels wonderful to be plugged in somewhere here…to get support and build community with other dedicated Christians.
Also known as just getting on the floor and doing those crunches! Or, I could do my pilates DVD more faithfully. Running would probably help a bit too.
Bottom Line: get back into shape, lazy girl!
Daddy just says it’ll happen when you’re not looking for it. Mama’s just mum on the subject now. She’s afraid of jinxing me. I’m now just walking around like a horse with blinders…trying not to look! ;)
Dr. Stoots had me help prepare some presentations for his dive class. So, I know a lot about scuba…enough to make me scared to death of trying it!! But, if I ever get to participate in the training / practice part of his class, I just might overcome that fear and learn to scuba! It’d be thrilling!
It’s definitely something I’m not able to escape. and I don’t want to. it’s a persistent theme in my life.
From what I understand, this is a difficult confection to bake. So, the challenge intrigues me. Plus, it looks so fun, poofing up and over the edge of the soufflé dish!
